Cora in Italy

Cora Jacobson grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and first began doing bodywork as a student of martial arts in 1991. She soon realized the effectiveness of massage as she helped her mother recover from a major car accident, and in 1998 she decided to pursue professional certification. Since then, Cora has received extensive training in several styles of bodywork, graduating from the National Holistic Institute in 1998 and the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in 2002, as well as attending 11 seminars between 2001 and 2006 in the John F. Barnes approach to Myofascial Release.

She graduated in 2009 from The Wellspring School in Boise, Idaho with a certificate in Wholistic Nutrition. Since then, she has added nutrition counseling to her services and she occasionally teaches nutrition classes for the public. Cora also graduated from Pima Community College in 2007 with an Associate’s Degree in Fine Art. Her degree focus was Art in the Craft, with classes in pottery and ceramics, weaving, and metal work.

Her love for education, both learning and teaching, continually inspires her practice of bodywork. She helped manage the teaching assistant program at National Holistic Institute in 1999-2000. Upon graduation from Desert Institute’s Shiatsu program in 2002, she joined the faculty in the Shiatsu department, where she taught until 2006. She periodically teaches a variety of self-care workshops for clients who want to take a more active role in their own health.
